Use chevre ...
- In lasagna in place of parmesan or mozzarella
- On pizza instead of mozzarella
- In quiche or savory cheesecakes instead of cream cheese
- In dips and spreads instead of cream cheese
- In main-course composed or tossed green salads (use flakes of dried cheese or coat round slices with cracker crumbs or sesame seeds and fry in olive oil)
- In sandwiches with whole wheat bread, cucumbers, tomatoes and sprouts
- With fresh pears, peaches, or nectarines and nuts for dessert
- Spread it on sliced tomatoes, garnished with herbs and broiled as a side dish or appetizer
- Toss with cooked vegetables
- Layer it with pesto to make chevre-pesto torte
- Just slather it on a bagel or slice of french bread and eat it
Serving Tips
- Any cheese should be served at room temperature for best flavor
- A carton of Fantome Farm chevre will keep well in the refrigerator for up to two weeks
- Our fresh chevre also freezes well -- slide the container into a ziploc bag so it doesn't dry out
- Dried goat cheese can be sliced, grated, or crumbled
- Chevre rounds in herbed olive oil will keep for months in the refrigerator
